Controlled relaxed breathing also. I think yoga is more geared for older people. If you are already fit, their may not be too much of a need. But a little calisthenics doesn’t hurt.

Well, it improves your concentration, flexibility and relaxes your mind from stress. For sports, if it’s a fighting-combat one, like MMA or Boxing, it definitely helps.
But overall, i’d suggest Tai-Chi instead of Yoga. I mean, Yoga just improves your flexibility and relaxes your mind. While Tai-Chi, revitalizes your soul, body and mind. In other words, it recharges you to do better in sports and activities.
