What are you trying to do?

Meditation will not get you a brand new shiny Buick or land you a six figure job.

On the other hand meditation is very good for clearing your mind and helping you focus so you can concentrate enough to land that job or save the money to buy that Buick.

One really shouldn't meditate on anything. The purpose of mediation is to get rid of the crap that keeps the mind spinning.

If you meditate on anything it should be a quite calm space, a place where you find yourself at piece. Once there your mind will know where it wants to go and what it needs to think about.

A luxury fur mat defeats the purpose of meditation, that is, to contemplate deep issues rather than superficial or materialistic matters.

If sitting on the floor is uncomfortable, try one of those basic yoga/foam mats.

by following the simple process of meditation, although meditation has no technique being our own nature,it is a state of being, not doing anything, just being the spectators of all the happenings within ourself by gently closing our eyes and diverting our awareness within ourself and watch the projections of mind on the inner tv,see thru your third eye which will start seeing ownself, once we close our outer eyes for this we need't put any pressure on anything and need't concentrate on any object, since meditation is different from concentration,so just be witness of all the happenings within ourself..........for more practical meditation may contact me,it's free.

It doesn't matter.

You do it to the point where you feel you're done. And trust me, you KNOW when you're done.

Try checking your local library for FREE yoga videos! If no luck check you closest fitness emporium or Walmart! They have Yoga kits! You'll need a mat!

Introduction
There are two types of "hot" yoga: Bikram Yoga and individualized yoga routines performed in a heated room. This article deals with Bikram Yoga, a specialized yoga routine developed by Bikram Choudhury.
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Steps
1Step OneKnow that Bikram Yoga is a 90-minute hatha yoga routine intended to detox the body and improve strength and vitality. It is performed in a room that's been heated to approximately 105 degrees F. In the course of an hour and a half, 26 poses are performed, twice each.
2Step TwoUnderstand that the Bikram poses, or asanas, are designed to deeply stretch muscles and tendons. The heat helps to relax the muscles and provides a deeper stretch than might be ordinarily obtained.
3Step ThreeAppreciate that the poses also create a tourniquet effect throughout the body, and this helps push fresh blood throughout the system.

4Step FourBe aware that no previous yoga experience is required for Bikram, but it helps if you enjoy the heat! There are no inverted poses in Bikram and the postures are held for periods of 30 to 90 seconds to develop stamina.
Tips & Warnings
When you're just starting out, it's perfectly normal and acceptable to sit quietly and take a rest if needed. With regular practice, you'll find yourself making it through an entire class in no time.

I think verbal hymns and chants have their own spiritual powers. Be it just music or lyrical sounds, they all have inherent significance. A musical sound in for a special tribe or group could have thousand significance as opposed to a stranger who is unfamiliar with that language/culture. Although i agree with you that the verbal chants sounds annoying however their meaning is takes different forms in yog asanas!
