I’ve practiced Meditation for a while, and I’m really interested to learn in detail about Taoist meditation and traditions, since Lao Tse’s words have always rung true to me. I looked around a bit for Taoist meditation books, but none seemed that appealing to me. Does anyone know a good book I could read about the methods and the spiritual insights of Taoism and how they apply in modern life? I am looking for something less theoretical and more practical.

I am an extremely anxious person by nature, and I feel that if I don’t learn a natural and healthy way to control my nerves, not only will I live in a shell my whole life, but potentially go to the grave earlier.

Can anyone recommend me a meditation book that will knock my socks off?

I am very interested in meditation and the ideas that surround it. Although I do not agree with many of the practices at the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa. Are there any other similar schools in the US that aren’t affiliated with the Maharishi?

I used to do it in a zen center, but I can’t really afford to drive back and forth to a zen center. Can I just sit zazen on my couch or what? I have a Buddha and incense, should I make an alter or what?

Meditation is easy for me. I grew up with visualization, body scans, guided meditation, counting, breathing, naming thoughts (probably what he needs most) and more. I just don’t know where to start with my son. Any suggestions on teaching or introducing meditation to a teenager? Books? Courses? Videos? Where to start with good old dad? Thank you.
